UPDATE - we have succumbed to our own Fur Kid in 2022 a cockapoo, but we still love to meet and sit other pets! We just have to get our own sitters when travelling!
We are active, retired , responsible,honest, non-smoking, married couple who have been pet and house sitting for 14 years and still enjoy bonding with homeowners Fur Kids while we take care of your home when you are away. We are fully vaccinated and boostered.
We are both keen cyclists and walkers who enjoy the outdoors and exploring new areas - even better with a happy dog along for the walk. In the evenings we are usually quite content to relax with a good book, TV and the company of an equally contented pet happy and relaxed in their own environment
James worked for the Government of Canada for 32 years and Jane worked at the Calgary Public Library for 18 years. James is a born and bred Canadian and Jane was born in England and moved to Canada in 1970.
Early retirement in 2006 gave us the opportunity and flexibility to travel. New house and pet sits grant us the possibility to explore and enjoy a new community and the pets who steal our hearts along the way. A mutually beneficial arrangement we feel.
In the last 14 years we have enjoyed over 30 successful house and pet sits in New Zealand, Canada, UK, Europe and various locales in the U.S.A. including Hawaii for the same sit several times.
Many of our house sits have included pool care and as homeowners ourselves we are competent in handling general maintenance issues as needed.
James has a talent for making friends with even the most shy and elusive cats. In no time he is wearing a cat on his lap. Jane is equally at home with dogs or cats and has raised and trained Golden Retrievers for several years. Our pet care has included various fish including the unique opportunity to hand feed an Axolotl!
We understand the importance entrusted in us to take very good care of both your home and pets and to ensure their routine is closely followed.
Our aim is for you to return to contented unstressed pets and to a home that is as clean and tidy as you left it. Our own home on Vancouver Island, B.C is well maintained and respected and we extend the same care to homes we visit.
