Hi, I am a 65-year old fit, healthy, retired teacher and author with excellent references. Originally from England, I was a home owner for 30 years in Vancouver. I am very comfortable and experienced with the care of both dogs and cats. (I owned a border collie and cocker spaniel cross).
Cooking, hiking and yoga are my passions. I am a non-smoker with three years house sitting experience. Having just moved away from Nelson, BC, I am now looking to begin housesitting again, caring for another's home, and discovering the culture and people of a place. I think of it as 'gentle travel'.
In the past I have house sat in Vancouver, Seattle, Sydney, Tasmania, Western Australia, San Francisco, Sacramento, Nelson, and on Vancouver Island.
I am the author of 'The Suitcase & the Jar: Travels With a Daughter's Ashes', a BC Bestseller, published in I also wrote a 12-page booklet 'A Beginner's Guide To House Sitting', which can be found on my web site, along with guest posts from other house sitters.
I can assure homeowners that their home and pets will be well taken care of. I am tidy, clean, friendly and sociable and love seeking out new learning opportunities. Currently, I work as a life coach, helping people navigate major transitions.
Rest assured I will cooperate and communicate openly with owners regarding potential concerns with property or pets.
