Hello!
I am a 36 year-old non-smoker and I will sit house and pets for free.
Ok, now for the fun part! I am a portrait artist, a graphic designer , and a part-time bar manager and hostess at a restaurant and night club in the Seattle area. I put on about two art shows per year, and I work on posters all year round. I create family portraits and pet portraits, as well as making posters for live music shows. I love to see live jazz, funk, blues, bluegrass, and fusion bands. Sometimes I even get to sing!
I also LOVE to read and can spend many days in a row with a good book. Some of my favorite authors are Margaret Atwood, Donna Tartt, Jane Austen, J.R.R. Tolkien, and George R.R. Martin. I'm a very independent person. I have many very dear friends, and enjoy being social, but I also love time with myself. I enjoy going out for meals with a good book for company, I love going for walks, and I delight in watching my same favorite silly movies over and over. I very much enjoy being outside- anywhere outside! I love rural hikes and urban hikes, mountain trails, beach walks- and every day is a good day for a walk in the park! Walking is a very important part of my daily routine.
I love to travel, which is part of the reason I enjoy house sitting, but until recently I've always had pets of my own to look after. In 2015 I lost my little girl- Alice, a blonde Cocker Spaniel- to old age. I miss her dearly, but as often as I can I now try to get my kitty and puppy cuddles in by looking after all my friends' and neighbors' pets. Now I do house sitting because I think it's the perfect way to visit new places and to make new friends (furry and non-furry;), while helping out good people.
I have an extensive amount of experience caring for animals. My family are all pet lovers so I've cared for animals my whole life. My mother was a groomer for many years. We raised and bred Cocker Spaniels in our homes. We've always had at least two cats in the house, and have had several litters of kittens. We even had a small farm when I was young, with chickens, goats, a goose, rabbits, turtles, cats, and dogs. At different points I've also had Cockatiels and an Iguana. As I said before, I just recently lost my Cocker Spaniel to old age. Her name was Alice and she was my darling little girl. Near the end her care required constant attention, including medical attention. Now that I'm not taking care of her anymore, I have the freedom to travel and care for other people's pets.
I can provide professional and personal references upon request. I have several years experience in the service industry, and being a manager I am trusted with the responsibility of opening and closing the restaurant and bar, books and paperwork, handling cash, supervising employees, and business partner relations and communication.
